Olivier is a European Patent Attorney, an engineer with a specialty in chemistry, and has a PhD at the interface of Physical Chemistry and Pharmacy. With his broad engineer education (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) and his doctorate, Olivier has good experience with, and a unique background to handle today’s shift towards converging technology patents.

Olivier has experience as an in-house IP counsel in a multinational company where his tasks included working closely with R&D to improve IP awareness, identify new ideas, ensure invention disclosure are generated, train the employees in the field of IP, and ensuring a good management of the IP portfolio, for example by training intern resources, constructing an IP database and running an IP portfolio review process.

Olivier also worked for several years researching nanotechnology both in pharmaceutics and in diagnostics (Spinchip Diagnostic), and thus has a comprehensive understanding of research processes and biotechnology. He has a broad expertise in other technical areas, such as materials chemistry, medical equipment, polymer science, formulation, nanotechnology and pharmacy.

Olivier’s clients are of all sizes, from large multinational companies to SMEs and individual researchers and research environments. The wide range of types of clients provides a unique experience in adapting the advice to each individual client’s needs.
