Kristoffer Weltzien has worked within the IP business for more than 20 years, and have assisted businesses within industries like agriculture, chemicals, energy, pharma and consumer goods with establishing and maintaining rights, litigation, strategy and building knowledge. He is an expert in IP export and cross border disputes, and has also previously handled counterfeit cases for several, well-known international consumer brands. In addition, Weltzien’s eight years’ experience as an examiner with NIPO (Norwegian Patent Office) has proved invaluable to his international clients when advising on applications in Norway.
A seasoned strategist in IP rights establishment and enforcement, Weltzien practices an ‘in-house’ approach to his client relationships, working in close collaboration with the client to ensure tailor-made advice. He is also a key player in Onsagers’ cooperation with the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise, and is frequently used as a speaker at its events.
Weltzien is best known for his work with Yara International, Nykode, Arcus and Photocure. He has successfully litigated counterfeit cases for many international clients including L’Oreal and Diadora, and has represented Ringnes (Carlsberg) in trademark infringement cases. He is also heading Onsagers’ specilaized group for M&A service offerings, aiming at adding value for the entire lifecycle of an investment.
