Originally qualifying and working as a chemical engineer, Dorte Lajer is now a European Patent Attorney with EQE, and many years of experience in prosecution and IPR management. She works in a broad range of fields such as process chemistry, catalysis, material science, renewable energy, solar cells, inorganic chemistry, oil & gas technology, composites, organic chemistry, mineral mining and fertilisers. Her clients span the complete range of company size, from large multinationals to SMEs and small entrepreneurs. In each case, she likes to get under the skin of the business to provide carefully tailored advice on how IPR can best be deployed.

Dorte successfully completed European Litigation Course at the University Politecnico di Milano in June 2023, and is now registered as a representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

Key Experience

Dorte handles IPR ‘due diligence’ evaluations and assists her clients with all aspects of IPR management in Norway and Europe. Specifically, she drafts, files, and prosecutes patents and oppositions. Defending clients’ rights at oral proceedings and in appeals to the EPO Board of Appeals and KFIR, the Norwegian equivalent, is another aspect of her work. She also prepares IPR strategies and performs Freedom to Operate analyses.
