Ann-Cathrin has worked with intellectual property (IP) since 1989. In addition to being an experienced IP advisor, she has extensive experience as an in-house lawyer and IP consultant. Previously, she was also an adviser at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office.
Ann-Cathrin adds invaluable client-side industry experience to Onsagers. She worked as Head of the IP department of an international pharmaceutical company for seven years, and then was the Head of the IP department of a telecommunications company for four years. She therefore understands IP from a business perspective and has extensive knowledge in managing IP portfolios and intellectual property issues.
Ann-Cathrin has valuable specialization in digital business models from BI and has special expertise in digital innovation and digital business models. She also has a degree in sustainability from the University of Cambridge and has expertise in circular economy. She has extensive experience in building and leading IP departments in international corporations and has extensive legal expertise and experience in IP in connection with acquisition and sale of business, licensing, research and development and cooperation agreements.
With her versatile experience after three years at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, eleven years in industry and 20 years as an advisor at Onsagers, she is a highly experienced and knowledgeable advisor. Ann-Cathrin is known for giving clear answers, which her clients appreciate.
Ann-Cathrin’s areas of expertise are pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, digital innovation and digital business models, battery technology, the chemical industry and sustainability.
Ann-Cathrin has also worked extensively with copyright, enforcement, pledges, copies, temporary injunctions, customs seizures and destruction of goods. In addition, she has handled employment contracts, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), employee inventions, collaboration agreements and joint innovation agreements.
World Trademark Review has listed Ann-Cathrin as a leading trademark professional in Norway, and she is regularly listed as IP Star and Leading IP Professional in Norway. She has worked with competence enhancement of business leaders in raising awareness of IP as well as IP strategy and other related topics. She is also a regular guest speaker and speaker at conferences.
