Andreas is a patent attorney and has extensive experience in IP counseling and management as well as IP administration. He provides guidance in connection with the strategic use of IP for innovation purposes and in product and service development. He also gives advice on strategic protection of technology and how companies can use IP in a commercial context.

Andreas provides advice on using Intellectual Property (IP) as a tool to help companies strengthen their existing business strategy to achieve their strategic goals. This is done by ensuring companies control and ownership of their own value chain in a knowledge-based society. He is concerned that companies, in addition to recordable intellectual assets (IPR), should also develop other aspects of intellectual assets, such as trade secrets, into documented values for the company.

Andreas has experience as an internal IP manager in small and large, Norwegian and multinational, well-established and start-up companies. Through that experience, he has good knowledge in most aspects of IP, such as setting up IP management systems to identify new ideas and technologies developed in the company, routines for communicating with external advisors, preparing for litigation, and dealing with Due-Dilligence processes against large OEMs. He can thus customize his services to meet different needs and frameworks.

Andreas has a background as a researcher at SINTEF and a development engineer at Tandberg Television AS, and has gained experience from a wide range of technical fields, such as sensors, electronics, semiconductors, micro and nanosystems, particle physics, radiation sensors, biometrics, fingerprint technology, telecommunications, communication technology, video conferencing, audio and video codecs, social media, as well as computers and software.

Andreas’s special areas are: IT and communication, media and entertainment, electric power and electronics, and renewable energy and the environment.
Andreas handles IP due diligence evaluations and assists his clients with all aspects of IP management. He is also experienced in the assessment of risk of intervention and advises on the enforcement of a patent. He also prepares IP strategies and conducts action room analysis (FTO) for companies and projects.
