Kathrine Kjendlie is trademarks specialist with more than 23 years of experience, originally as a senior corporate attorney in the pharmaceutical industry and now as part of the Onsagers trademarks team. While she is a sought-after advisor to pharmaceutical sector clients, Kathrine also works with domestic and international companies in other sectors, including automotive, textiles (clothing) and food production. Her extensive in-house experience gives her a particular advantage in understanding client needs, helping them adapt and implement IP strategies in the most cost-effective way possible.
Kathrine has managed the international trademark portfolios of several large pharmaceutical sector firms. She also established global rights to many trademarks for the Nycomed Group of companies (part of Takeda), including: TACHOSIL, INSTANYL, INSTAFENT and MATRIFEN. This work included trademark brand creation, availability search, and final registration.
As well as preparing general and specific trademark strategies, she also has experience in the following areas: filing and handling applications, handling of infringements, parallel import and other trademark violations, negotiating with other companies regarding trademark rights, drafting of trademark agreements such as prior rights, co-existence, license and assignment agreements, letter of consent and trademark as part of distribution agreements, evaluation of trademark rights in connection with due diligence proceedings.
