Kari Simonsen is a European Patent Attorney with more than 20 years’ Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical sector IPR experience, specializing in Chemistry, Pharmacy and Bio-technology. She was formerly a Senior Examiner at The Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO). Today, Kari assists clients in drafting and handling patent applications and oppositions, freedom-to-operate evaluations, infringement issues and IP strategy.

In the last 17 years Kari has acquired extensive experience of Infringement and Validity in numerous pharma sector patent litigation cases in Norway. These include: paroxetine, citalopram, escitalopram, omeprazole, lansoprazole, atorvastatine, alendronate, bicalutamide, donepezil, irbesartan, oxycodone, sildenafil, formoterol/budesonide, and several others.
