Carl J. Bjerkelund is a trademark and design attorney with 25 years’ experience in the Intellectual Property field. He provides a wide range of services, including general and strategic trademark counseling, developing and implementing trademark protection strategies, clearance/FTO’s, portfolio auditing, filing, enforcement and prosecution, IP-related agreements, unfair competition issues, counterfeiting and adjacent areas. Carl is fluent in Norwegian, English and Italian, and became a partner at Onsagers when the firm merged with Defensor in 1997.
Carl provides IP counsel to companies of all sizes and in all industries, including many large, well- known national and multi-national enterprises. His argumentation before the Norwegian Appeal Board also led to a change to registrations of trademarks previously being considered non-distinctive ‘model indications’.
